Split PDF

Upload one PDF and split it into separate pages or selected ranges.

Split a large PDF into pages or useful ranges

Use Split PDF when you only need part of a document: one clause from a contract, selected pages from a report, a receipt page from a long statement, or separate files from a multi-page scan. The tool supports splitting every page into a separate PDF or creating custom ranges such as sections, chapters or attachments.

Page previews make it easier to choose what should be exported. Use By pages to create one PDF per page packed into a ZIP archive, or use Ranges when you want one output PDF containing only specific page intervals. This is useful before sending a smaller extract to a client, accountant, lawyer or internal team.

How to split a PDF

  1. 1Upload one PDF documentChoose the PDF you want to separate. ClickPDF renders page previews so you can identify covers, appendices, signatures or invoice pages before exporting.
  2. 2Choose By pages or RangesSelect By pages to create separate PDFs for every page, or switch to Ranges and enter the exact from/to intervals you need.
  3. 3Export the selected resultClick Split PDF. Page-by-page output downloads as a ZIP archive, while range output becomes a PDF containing the selected pages.

Private splitting for sensitive documents

The source PDF is read and split in your browser, not uploaded to a server. That is important for contracts, bank statements, HR documents and files that contain personal data. Download the result before closing the tab, because temporary output is not stored online.

Split PDF questions

What is the difference between By pages and Ranges?

By pages creates a separate PDF for every page and packages the files into one ZIP. Ranges lets you define intervals, for example pages 2–5 and 9–11, and creates a PDF from those selected pages.

Can I extract just one section from a contract?

Yes. Use Ranges and enter the start and end pages of the section you need. The output PDF will contain only pages from those ranges.

Will split pages keep their quality?

Yes. The tool copies selected pages into a new PDF without intentionally compressing images or rasterizing text.

What happens to bookmarks or interactive elements?

Page content is preserved, but complex document structure such as bookmarks, outlines or some interactive elements may not carry over exactly after splitting.
