ClickPDF
Upload a PDF, set a password and download a protected document.
Use Protect PDF when a document should not open for everyone who receives the file: contracts sent outside the company, invoices with client data, HR paperwork, financial statements or internal reports. The tool adds a password to the exported PDF, so the recipient must know the password before opening the document.
The interface keeps the flow simple: upload one PDF, preview the first page, enter the password twice and click Set password. The password must be at least 4 characters, but for real documents a longer phrase is safer. Send the protected PDF and the password through separate channels when possible.
The PDF and password are processed locally in the browser. ClickPDF does not upload the document or the password to a server. Keep the password somewhere safe: if it is forgotten, ClickPDF cannot recover it from the protected file.

No. Password protection is applied locally, and ClickPDF does not store the password. Keep a copy in a password manager or another secure place.
Four characters is the minimum accepted by the interface, not a security recommendation. For sensitive documents, use a longer passphrase with mixed words, numbers or symbols.
No. The PDF content is protected, but the file name remains visible in the operating system, email attachment list or cloud folder.
